Cold Brew is coffee science at its finest. It refers to a beverage brewed in cold or room-temperature water. Coffee Socks have been used for hundreds of years in Latin communities. Known as a chorreador & bolsita. Typically made from wood, chorreadors consists of a stand which holds an elongated cotton bolsita (little bag). The word chorreador is related to the Spanish verb chorrear, meaning to drip or trickle. Some people use the sock to pour hot water over coffee grounds, while others, pour through the sock to strain their prepared grounds from the water. Making cold brew is so easy. Start with a 4:1 ratio. Four cups of water to one cup of coarse ground coffee. Steep the coffee for a least 12 hours on your counter or in the fridge. Changing the steeping time and the temperature changes the flavor. If you like it on the stronger side, brew it longer or in the fridge to smooth out the flavors, up to 24 hours. There are many concentration and infusion ratios out there. To strain your brew: Wet your Major Myk's Reusable Coffee Filter and place it through the drip stand.
